Restaurant Nine-Ten
La Jolla, CA

Commissioned for the 2018 renovation of Nine-Ten in La Jolla, this site-specific installation spans the restaurant’s primary 35-foot wall, acting as a visual anchor for the oceanfront space. The work is composed of three monumental sections (approximately 7.5’ x 10’ each), subdivided into panels to create a rhythmic, architectural flow.
While the project was guided by the venue’s interior palette, the imagery was developed with full creative autonomy. The goal was to bring the exterior environment inside, utilizing an organic visual language that compliments the restaurant’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean without being literal. The final compositions are produced as high-definition photographs face-mounted to acrylic. This medium was chosen specifically for its sleek, fluid quality, mimicking the depth of water and refreshing the space with a modern, light-reflective aesthetic that engages diners and harmonizes with the coastal setting.
